PRE-NCT TEST

If your car is due an NCT test, Global Tyre Co. can help make sure it is ready and help identify any possible faults before the test.

As well as checking and fitting new tyres, carrying out wheel alignment tests and offering brake condition tests, we also offer a pre-NCT wash and valet service to ensure your car is in the best condition possible prior to the NCT test.

NCT Test Information

The NCT test is a comprehensive check of vehicle components to assess whether the vehicle meets the basic requirements to be deemed roadworthy. Without a valid NCT certificate, a vehicle is not permitted to be used on the road.

Before taking your NCT test, we recommend adhering to the following steps:

Check your vehicle engine for oil and water and ensure the windscreen washer is topped with water.

Empty your boot and clear the vehicle of all valuables and personal belonging.

Ensure the vehicle is clean (including under the body).

Remove wheel hubcaps only in the case where wheel nuts are not visible) and ensure tyres are inflated to correct pressure.

Ensure your engine is in a fit state to be tested

Check that all seat belts and clips are fully visible (including rear).

Have your lights checked and set.

Ensure you vehicle is at a normal operating temperature prior to arriving at the test centre for inspection.
